Residence by investment

Sells the right to live in the country (a “golden visa”), sometimes leading to citizenship later.

Official name: Anguilla Residence by Investment (Anguilla Economic Residence Act 2019)

Lowest price for one person: US$750,000

Approved real estate of US$750,000. The regulation gives this for 'up to a family of four', and no lower figure exists for a single applicant. On paper the Capital Development Fund route is cheaper (US$150,000 single, t-76e5e3d790), but in December 2022 the Executive Council recorded that it 'was not available ... because the fund was not established' (e-880c0f7f74). The 2024 amending Act and Regulations were not retrieved, so it is unknown whether the fund route works today. If it does, the headline should become US$150,000 (donation). Fees excluded: permit fee US$10,000 and due diligence.

Notes from the research

Permanent residence through approved real estate (US$750,000 for a family of four, 5-year hold) or a contribution to the Capital Development Fund (US$150,000 single applicant; not usable until the fund was set up, after December 2022). Run by the Select Anguilla Agency through authorised agents. A retroactive route covered owners of property bought before 31 May 2019 (US$500,000-750,000 depending on purchase date). The same Act offers tax residence (US$75,000 a year). An amending Act and Regulations were passed in 2024 (not retrieved). Permanent residence does not give Belonger status; naturalisation needs years of residence. No counts found.
