Citizenship by investment programme

Sells citizenship, and with it a passport.

Official name: Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP)

Lowest price for one person: US$230,000

National Development Fund contribution of US$230,000 for a single applicant or a family (2024 regulations, from 1 Aug 2024; the CIU page still gives it in Sep 2026). Alternatives: real estate US$300,000 (t-9f8da8a4d9), UWI Fund US$260,000 (t-3f8135c77e, for a family of at least six; the CIU says it includes fees), business US$1.5m (t-b589105440). Fees excluded: processing US$10,000, due diligence US$8,500.

Notes from the research

Set up by the Citizenship by Investment Act 2013 (gazetted 11 Apr 2013; launched is this publication date, because the Act comes into force on a date appointed by Ministerial Order, and that Order is not stored); run by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU). Routes: National Development Fund donation, real estate, business investment, and (from 2018) University of the West Indies Fund. 5,203 applications from inception to 30 Jun 2024.
