Official name: Golden Residency (الإقامة الذهبية)

Lowest price for one person: BHD 130,000

Property worth at least BHD 130,000 (cut from BHD 200,000 on 26 Nov 2025, per an NPRA press release; the legal instrument was not found). Property is the only investment route. Fees excluded: BHD 300 per person, BHD 5 application.

Notes from the research

10-year renewable residence permit created by Minister of Interior Order No. 20 of 2022 (issued 10 Feb 2022; announced as launched on 7 Feb 2022 per the press). launched is the Order's date of issue: the Order comes into force on its publication in the Official Gazette (art. 13), and that publication date is not in a stored document. Categories: owners of property in Bahrain worth at least BHD 200,000 at purchase (cut to BHD 130,000 in November 2025), retirees with BHD 4,000 a month pension, long-serving employees (5 years, BHD 2,000 average salary) and retirees (15 years, BHD 2,000), and talents. Fee BHD 300 per person per 10-year permit (plus BHD 5 application fee now). Holder must be present at least 90 days a year. The property route is the only investment route. A separate 'platinum' residence (PM Resolution 47/2023) is for long-serving golden holders. No path to citizenship is stated. Official counts are press statements covering all categories together.
