Fiji Investor Permit (Immigration Regulations 2007, ss. 39-41)
Sells the right to live in the country (a “golden visa”), sometimes leading to citizenship later.
Notes from the research
Residence and work permit for foreign shareholders, owners or representatives of a company registered in Fiji, issued by the Ministry of Immigration under ss. 39-41 of the Immigration Regulations 2007: investment threshold of $300,000 (currency printed as "$"; Fijian dollars presumed, the Ministry's other amounts are FJD) unless the Ministry of Trade grants a waiver; 3 years approved in principle (1 year issued first). No route to citizenship. Launched 1982-05-07: effective date of LN 40 of 1982, which inserted the investor residence permit (para 4(2) of the Immigration Directions), per the amendment history in an unofficial consolidated copy of the Immigration Regulations 2007 (the official site returned 404); the FJD 250,000 figure dates from 1997; a capital route in the 1971 Directions may be older but its wording is unknown; industry sites cite older thresholds (FJD 50,000 / 250,000), not checked. Representatives of a foreign shareholder company also qualify, so the money need not be the applicant's own.
