Sells the right to live in the country (a “golden visa”), sometimes leading to citizenship later.
Notes from the research
Residence for a foreigner investing at least USD 50,000 (or the equivalent in lempiras), with a feasibility study, a USD 5,000 central-bank deposit guaranteeing the investment, registration in the Registro de Inversionistas and a USD 300 fee. Launched 2004-05-02: the Ley de Migración y Extranjería (Decreto 208-2003, La Gaceta 30,331 of 3 March 2004) comes into force 60 days after publication (date computed); it creates the 'residente inversionista' status (US$50,000). The requirements sheet is from Dec 2022; current status not confirmed.
