Notes from the research

Added by a 2017 law amending the immigration law (8 March 2017 per the Finance Ministry FAQ, 20 March 2017 per Bill 8586; the law and its in-force date are not stored, so launched is given as the year only): residence for investing EUR 500,000 in an existing or new Luxembourg company, EUR 3 million in an investment and management structure, or EUR 20 million as a deposit with a Luxembourg financial institution; three-year title after a favourable opinion from the Economy or Finance ministry. Only 9 titles issued (2018-2024), none of the first 7 renewed. Government bill 8586 (21 Jul 2025) would repeal it; still in committee in Sep 2026. status = active until the repeal is adopted.
