Sri Lanka Golden Paradise Visa (Golden Paradise Residence Visa Program; 10-year residence visa for investors with a foreign-currency deposit)
Sells the right to live in the country (a “golden visa”), sometimes leading to citizenship later.
Notes from the research
Run by the Department of Immigration and Emigration under the Immigrants and Emigrants Act. Founding text is internal circular 01/2022/VISA of 25 May 2022 (no in-force date stated, so launched = circular date): deposit of US$100,000 in a Golden Paradise account at a licensed bank, US$50,000 to be kept from the second year, 10-year visa for the investor, spouse and children under 16, visa fee US$200 per person per year (US$2,000 for 10 years); the money may be used for approved investments, condominium purchase, leases or Sri Lanka Development Bonds. The current official page asks for US$200,000 with up to 50% withdrawable after a year; the date and instrument of that increase were not found. No official counts found.
